MEET THE AAP COACHES

Jenny Westerkamp, Founder + AAP Coach

About Jenny:

Jenny began her career during her senior year of college when she started All Access Internships (AAI) in April 2008, and since then has dedicated to meeting the needs of the dietetic student community. She spends her application "off-season" managing the minor league nutrition needs for the Chicago Cubs.Previously, Jenny was the Nutritionist for Kitchfix, a meal delivery, prepared foods, and catering company in Chicago. She also advised REAL Dietitian, a nationwide telehealth company. For 4 years, she was the Senior Sports Nutritionist for SportFuel, Inc. where she worked with the Rockford IceHogs, Chicago Blackhawks, and NBA Development League. She is also the co-author of Green Foods for Men.

Favorite Coaching Moment:

During a brainstorm of the personal statement, when I talk with the applicant about their short-term and long-term goals, it gets really fun. When they say they don't know what they want to do in the future, I give them tons of ideas that I think they would like, and they usually respond with "Wait, I can do that?" Yes, the possibilities in dietetics are endless! And then I explain why DREAMING BIG is the key to their success both in the personal statement and in their future career. What makes this advice so magical is that I can literally FEEL the applicant become more confident, more empowered, and more inspired than ever to become a registered dietitian--just through that brainstorm session. My hope is that I've not only impacted their application, but impacted their life.

Past Client Testimonial:

"Jenny Westerkamp is soooooo AMAZING! She really knows about dietetic internship application, and knows what the dietetic internship programs want. She is very professional, and I really enjoyed working with her! My case is a little tough: international student (non-native speaker), low GPA (got a of Cs), and failed to get matched twice. I almost gave up my dream of becoming a registered dietitian, and went back to my country, but Jenny saved my dream. I always work hard, but not in a correct way, Jenny helped me make my every effort count. Eventually, I got matched to Sodexo Dietetic Internship! I know couldn't do this without Jenny. I feel so fortunate to work with her, and I can't say enough thanks to her!"

Favorite Coaching Moment:

My favorite coaching moment is following my clients over the years. I recently pulled out the computer I used during my dietetic internship and found the resume of one of my first-ever clients who now happens to be a good professional friend AND I just hired her to help me with some social media projects for my online business. Talk about a full circle moment! Never underestimate the power of relationships and staying in touch with people you meet.

Past Client Testimonial:

"Working with Katie was the best thing I could have done during the application process. I purchased the VIP coaching pass and this allowed Katie to really help me through every step of the application. She provided a lot of support and was very knowledgeable. Katie helped me feel confident throughout the entire process. She completely overhauled my personal statement and after many drafts and reviews I was very proud of it. I highly recommend working with Katie as she was instrumental in me matching to my first choice internship!" - Caitlin Weis

Aubrey Phelps, Client Coordinator + AAP Coach

About Aubrey:

Aubrey was born and raised in Port Clinton, Ohio. After completing her Master’s in Nutrition and beginning her distance internship through Morrison Chartwells, Aubrey began working as a coach with All Access in 2013. In May 2014, she sat for her RD boards and became a Registered Nutritionist.  Since then, Aubrey has been working primarily in private practice, focusing around perinatal and pediatric nutrition. In 2016, Aubrey completed her perinatal fitness specialist certification to offer her clients another piece of the wellness puzzle. She lives on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio with her husband and two children, 2.5 years and 10 months.

Favorite Coaching Moment:

Some of my favorite moments working with applicants is when we discuss edits and they say something like, “Oh my gosh, that’s exactly what I was trying to say, but you said it so much better!”. I love making a client feel like I truly understand the story they are trying to tell and then watching as we work together to say it in the most powerful and personal way.

Past Client Testimonial:

"I was surprised by how professional my phone call with her was. She directed the conversation well and really gave me the feedback I needed. I enjoyed the coaching call since I got to speak to her directly and get immediate feedback on my ideas. She was obviously experienced. Her edits for my documents were fast, but the quality was not lacking. I liked that she did reply to some of the comments I inserted in my documents. That was helpful since I was not talking to her directly about why I wrote what I wrote."

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

"I matched to my number one choice! The advice you gave me was so incredibly valuable from December-February, and I felt so much more confident knowing that I had an experienced and knowledgeable RD behind me to guide me.
From our first email/call exchange I felt that you truly understood who I was as a nutrition student, which helped to make this such a smooth process. You helped me get straight to the point and accentuate my strengths fluidly and often. The tips and tricks you gave, while still encouraging me to keep my application "me," are what has led to this moment!I can't thank you enough. Your services, and those of AAI as a whole, have been recommended by me a million times over!" - Maria Dellanina, client of Katie Proctor
